Etling 242

A very rare Etling opalescent footed cylinder vase, 22 cm high, 15 cm diameter. Signed 'Etling France 242'. It is in perfect condition except for a tiny rough spot on the inside of the rim. The vase dates from about 1930. Weight = 2.66 kg.

The Societe Anonyme Edmond Etling was founded in Paris, France in 1909 and they commissioned works of art in bronze, ceramics, and glass, mainly from French artists. The glass was made for Etling at the Choisy-le-Roi glassworks near Paris.

Isle of Wight White Azurene Lollipop

This is a very rare lollipop vase, 15 cm high, in white Azurene, made by Isle of Wight Studio Glass in 1982-1984 only. The standard designs in white Azurene were small fruit paperweights. Very few lollipop vases were made. The museum has seen only two examples in ten years.

Isle of Wight Pink Swirls vase

'Pink Swirls' was an experimental design made by Isle of Wight Studio Glass in late 1973 only. It has the distinctive coachbolt pontil mark on the base. Pieces in this design are hard to find. This squat vase is 9 cm high with 12 cm maximum diameter.
